Research

Biological systems use chemistry in unique ways to survive harsh environments. Research in the Busta lab uses informatics to unite analytical chemistry with emerging high-throughput DNA and RNA sequencing technologies to understand the biosynthesis and evolution of plant chemicals and enable biomimetic metabolic engineering. We use this approach to develop and apply new knowledge about chemical biology to sustaining and improving human life.

Resources

One area of interest in the Busta lab is the development of research and teaching tools. These tools are designed to help move the field of plant chemistry forward and to inspire young chemists. These tools are actively maintained, free to use, and available to download here!
